I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with American Eagle… They had good jeans, they have nice basic Ts and tanks (overpriced normally) but a good deal on the clearance rack. But the past year, I can’t remember the last thing I’ve purchased from there that wasn’t a gift. Their fit has been horrendous, usually extremely large. Recently I was window shopping and stumbled across 77Kids. I was intrigued because I can wear kid’s sizes in other brands, but it’s a proceed-with-caution endeavor so you don’t end up with something too boxy looking or childish. I ended up ordering two sweaters from 77Kids (and one from aerie). Their sizing mishaps translated over (I ordered a medium and a large, when according to their chart I should be an XL) but I was very pleased with the quality and since they are both wrap cardigans, the usual chest area problems with kid’s clothing was avoided. And now with the Sam Edelman collab for summer, AE is stepping it up.
